Outage-Optimal Cooperative Relaying
In this paper we look at the outage capacity of the fading relay channel with half-duplex constraint in the low SNR regime. When the channel state information (CSI) is available only at the receiver it was shown that a Bursty Amplify-Forward (BAF) protocol is optimal and achieves the max-flow min-cut upper bound on the outage capacity of this network [11]. But as the channel estimation is quite...

Rayleigh fading channels is theoretically derived. Numerical results validate our theoretical analysis and show that by introducing overhearing among relays, the outage performance of the system can be greatly improved. It also shows that there is a trade-off between system sum outage capacity and the transmitted number of symbols.
متن کاملPerformance Analysis And Outage Optimal Power Allocation Scheme For Opportunistic Cooperative Communication
A threshold based opportunistic relaying cooperative communication protocol has been analysed in this thesis. The relay is selected opportunistically to maximize the end-to-end signal to noise ratio received at the destination. The relay selection may be proactive and reactive. The underlying communication protocol at relay is decode and forward cooperation. At destination Maximal Ratio Combini...
متن کاملOutage Analysis of Energy Harvesting based Opportunistic Cooperative Communication Systems
Wireless energy harvesting constitutes an effective way to prolong the lifetime of wireless networks. In this paper, an opportunistic decode-and-forward cooperative communication system is investigated, where the energy-constrained relays harvest energy from the received information signal and the cochannel interference (CCI) signals and then use that harvested energy to forward the correctly d...
متن کاملOpportunistic nonorthogonal amplify-and-forward cooperative communications
Introduction: Cooperative communications [1] create diversity gains for network users with a single antenna. The classical cooperative scheme consists of two orthogonal time slots (TS): a broadcasting TS for a source (S) to transmit its signal to the intended destination (D), and a relaying TS for a relay (R) to retransmit S’s signal to D. There are amplify-and-forward (AF) and decode-and-forwa...
